We are looking for more helpers for our Church Café
LifeSprings is the development of Christ Church vision for our Church presence on the high street that has been working and growing for 30 years.
LifeSprings makes use of our new, open frontage, tables on the street and busy location by Boots, McDonalds and close to Sainsbury’s and other major shops.
To be able to grow, we want to increase staffing so that we have three staff on at all times. We also want to extend our opening times.
So we are looking for people to be able to help.
We will train you and support you and you will be part of our LifeSprings team.
If you’re interested, please speak to Chris Hartley, Jayne Laird or Lynda Robinson.
Some staff do all the different jobs but we know that for some volunteers, doing a specific job would make it more manageable.
Waiting staff: Welcome customers, show them to tables, take orders and bring them to our small kitchen. Take the orders back to the tables and make sure everything is correct. You will use the till to enter what’s been ordered, give change correctly. Ensure sugar etc on tables is topped up and offer more drinks to customers as they finish those they have ordered. Wipe tables and ensure they are clean and tidy for the next customers.
Kitchen staff: Use our Bean to Cup coffee and hot water machines to make drinks and serve these in cups, teas pots etc.
Serve cakes, scones other simple food (e.g. toasted sandwiches) etc onto plates for waiting staff to serve.
Wash up to maintain a ready supply of crockery and cutlery.
A friendly face: LifeSprings is more than just a café that serves great coffee – we provide somewhere for people to talk and ask questions. Sometimes customers will ask for someone to talk to more privately or for prayer. They may want to share a problem (or a joy) or to have someone answer their questions or concerns about our Christian faith. If this is something you could do, we would love to talk to you as this is an important part of the LifeSprings work.
